Cleopatra – Love, Passion and War – a unique musical extravaganza, telling the extraordinary tale of history’s most famous love story “Antony and Cleopatra”. The World Premiere and filming is planned to take place in front of the Great Pyramid in Giza, Egypt in 2026 with a huge cast of soloists, singers, dancers, Cirque du Soleil style performers, full symphony orchestra, Arabic and other musicians. Stunning CGI imagery on three huge screens, telling this amazing story and featuring the largest sea battle in ancient history – the battle of Actium.
The story/libretto has been written by historian and author Tom Holland whose podcast “The Rest is History” is achieving 20 million downloads a month – and tells the story of Cleopatra in English, using the lyrics of the most beautiful and famous arias and songs from the world of opera. The music has been arranged and written by renowned composers James Morgan and Juliette Pochin.
It is widely acknowledged that Peter and partner Victoria Charlton did much to break down the cultural walls of the Cold War, bringing the Bolshoi Ballet & Opera, the Kirov (Maryinsky) Ballet and Opera conducted by Valery Gergiev, Moscow Classical Ballet, Georgian State Dance Company and other major classical artists and Orchestras from Russia and the Soviet Union to a world-wide audience, including in the UK, USA and Canada, where they was exclusively producing performances at the Metropolitan Opera House prestigious summer seasons and at the Royal Opera House, in London. Peter also toured the Royal Ballet, English National Opera, Royal National Theatre, directed by Sir Peter Hall to Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev as well as Luciano Pavarotti, Sir Elton John, Beyoncé, George Michael and many others.
